To become a carpenter, you need to complete an apprenticeship. Qualifications of learning may vary, but many employers requirements are year 10 level education. An apprenticeship includes both the job and job training, and it takes four years. A registered training organization like TAFE provides the off the job training. This is the theoretical component of training. You might do the off the job training while in school in some cases. This is known as the school-based apprenticeship.
